Halloween Trivia Scavenger Hunt!

***************This event is recommended for a PG-13 and above audience***************

When: Sat, October 31, 2020 @11:00 AM – 12:00 PM and from 12 -1 :00 PM

Where: Augusta Downtown Alliance | 295 Water Street, Augusta, ME 04330

Join the Augusta Downtown Alliance on water street for a Halloween Trivia Scavenger Hunt! each completed sheet will be entered into our raffle for a downtown gift basket worth over $150 of your favorite downtown spots!

Each ticket will be given a time slot and a starting location. This will allow us to separate groups and ensure social distancing. Go to your designated starting location, show them your ticket, and pick up your question sheet. Each time slot will be limited to 50 people, and will be separated by having a different starting location. There will be some ghouls walking the street ready to scare – and maybe help you!

Once you have solved all the questions, head to your starting location to drop off your completed sheet to be entered into the raffle for the grand prize! Afterwards, consider eating at a local restaurant, grabbing some coffee, or doing a little shopping at some of our wonderful downtown businesses!

Please note: This event is recommended for a PG-13 and above audience, the clues are likely too hard or obscure for children. Halloween costumes are encouraged, but not required. Please maintain social distancing when walking the street and entering businesses. Please wear a mask when entering a business. If you cannot wear a mask due to medical reasons, please reach out so we can find a reasonable accommodation for you! Please be respectful of businesses and their regular customers, and ensure you do not overload a business with too many people. If you are in a group, we recommend sending in one person to grab the scavenger hunt sheet for all members of your group, or coming in one at a time.

Drive-Thru “Trick or Treat” On Water Street

When: Saturday, October 31, 2020  – 2 to 5PM, or until candy runs out.

Where: Downtown Augusta / Old Maine State Housing Parking Lot

Taking place in the old MSHA parking lot! Join us downtown Augusta for a fun, safe Halloween! (

Please remember to wear a mask and stay in your vehicle during the drive-thru event. We will have stations set up along the drive to collect candy!

Vehicle Lineup will begin on Winthrop St, no earlier than 2pm. We will have plenty of volunteers showing you the way!

Halloween in Bath, Maine

Riverside’s Annual Halloween Party

This year our Annual Trick or Treat TROMP will look a bit different! Due to all the scary Covid things we are offering a Scavenger Hunt TROMP instead of our usual carnival and parade through the lovely City of Bath. We will need families to pre-register and will have that information soon.

Halloween in Belfast, Maine

Spooky tales from Belfast Maskers

“Tales from the Muck” is an anthology of short horror plays, performed outside the theater.
The show will run 90 minutes with no intermission.

Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring your own chair; a limited amount may be available on a first come, first serve basis.

Restrooms will be available ONLY before and after the show, with social-distancing and sanitation protocols observed.

Great Pumpkin Pageant with Waterfall Arts

Halloween crafts & Halloween StoryWalk

– Decorate on Tuesday, October 27th from 1:00 – 4:00 pm (Rain date: Thursday, October 29)
– StoryWalk: Friday October 30 and Saturday, October 31 (10am-Sunset)

Where: Belfast Free Library

Join the Belfast Free Library for safely-distanced outdoor Halloween programs for families, kids, and teens this month. Decorate-your-own fabric Halloween bags, featuring designs for both young kids and teens, will be available at the library on Tuesday, October 27th from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. Library patrons are invited to pick up a bag in the lobby to decorate at home or sit on the library plaza to color bags with fabric markers. The rain date for this event is Thursday, October 29 (1:00 – 4:00 pm). Following the program, bags will be available on the children’s floor while supplies last.

The library, in coordination with Belfast Parks and Recreation, will host a Halloween StoryWalk on Friday October 30 and Saturday, October 31. A StoryWalk is a marked trail featuring pages of a storybook posted on signboards along the route. StoryWalks were designed as a way to inspire parents, teachers, and caregivers to take young children outdoors and to enjoy reading stories together. Walking the trail while sharing a storybook promotes childhood literacy as well as outdoor activity for all ages.

Starting at the Belfast Boathouse, the StoryWalk trail will make a loop by the water and back along the upper walk. The trail is self-paced and will be open anytime from Friday at 10:00am through sunset on Saturday. Special give-aways will be available on Friday 10:00 – noon.

Halloween Creepy Crawl

The main event this year will be by car, to promote a healthy community during the pandemic. Your downtown business community wanted to make sure there was still something special, fun and yummy!

On Halloween, Saturday, Oct. 31, everyone’s invited on a Creepy Crawl (drive) between 3-6 p.m. at Biddeford Middle School! Watch funny and spooky scenes out your car window, then each kid in the car will get a great bag full of your favorite Halloween candy!

Is it like last year? We wish! But this a time to try new things. We hope you’ll have a spooky and delicious time at this one-stop, COVID-safe spot!

Halloween in Gardiner, Maine

A fun-filled family Spooky Walk (Gardiner, ME)

Where: Johnson Hall

About this Event
Join us for a fun-filled spooky walk through Johnson Hall! This event will be a safe and enjoyable event inside Johnson Hall. Groups of up to five people at a time will enter Johnson Hall on the second floor off Mechanic Street and make their way through various scary and spooky scenes on their way to the third floor. Once they reach the third-floor attendees can play Halloween-themed carnival games and win fun prizes. Attendees will exit the third floor back to Mechanic Street.

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ-Johnson Hall will be observing all recommended safety protocols for this event.

  • All Attendees must be wearing a mask (it’s Halloween,).
  • Attendee’s temperature will be taken before entry (non-contact thermometer)
  • We will have timed entrances in order to keep social distancing requirements.
  • All traffic in and out of the building will be in one direction. There will be no two-way traffic.
  • All items that will be touched by attendees will be sanitized between uses.

Halloween in Skowhegan, Maine

Costume Hike

When: Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 2 PM

Where: Lake George Regional Park

**COVID-19 PROTOCOLS IN PLACE: All attendees will be required to preregister for the Costume Hike so we can be sure to have enough program materials for all participants and keep numbers manageable. Additionally, we will require that all participants wear face masks at all times during the hike (bonus points if your face mask is in theme with your costume!).**

Join Skowhegan Outdoors for a Halloween Costume Hike up the Pinnacle Trail at Lake George Regional Park (East). This event is for kiddos and their grown ups and all are encouraged to get into the Halloween spirit with costumes! We will hike up to the top of The Pinnacle while enjoying a Halloween-themed scavenger hunt along the way.
