Banded & City Theater Halloween Bash

Where: City Theatre in Biddeford, Maine

We’ve teamed up with City Theater to bring you an extra spooky Halloween bash! We’ll have games, face-painting, sweet treats, a dance floor… we even heard rumor of a Thriller flash mob, so practice up! Costumes are imperative. The party will run from 6-10 with a costume contest for dogs at 6:30PM on the deck, and one for humans at 7:30PM. See you there!

Biddeford Haunts and Curiosities Walking Tour 2022

When: Several dates. October 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, 29

Where: City Theatre in Biddeford, Maine

Join us this October, as Briar & Bone presents the Biddeford Haunts and Curiosities Tour! Your guide, Joie Grandbois, will lead you on a storied wander along the streets of downtown Biddeford sharing tales of the spectral, the mysterious, and the very strange. Join us to hear the mournful tale of Biddeford’s lady in white, discover the secrets of travelling doctors and their curious cures, learn what frights may lurk beneath the waters of the Saco River, and lean in to hear a whispered tale or two of the secrets kept by citizens of the past who though their sordid tales would die with them.

Joie Grandbois was born in Maine and grew up in the small towns of New England listening to the many tales that inspired her to become a storyteller and collector of New England folklore. She is a graduate of the Portland History Docent program and has been a tour guide at Portland’s Eastern Cemetery since 2018.

Each tour begins at 6pm, Friday & Saturday evenings, in the art gallery at Briar & Bone, 285 Main Street, Biddeford, Maine. Warm beverages and light snacks will be served at the conclusion of the tour.

Halloween in Brunswick, Maine

Annual Halloween Parade and Tent or Treat

When: MONDAY, OCTOBER 31, 2022 AT 4:15 PM
Where: Brunswick Town Mall, 191 Maine Street, Brunswick, Maine 04011

We are back and excited to offer everyone’s favorite, FREE Halloween Parade followed by a popular event with a twist— Tent or Treat! Slip into your scariest, funniest, most outrageous costume and join in the Annual Halloween Parade where individuals of all ages are invited to “Monster March” down Maine Street. The parade will be held on Monday, October 31st at 4:30 p.m., starting on the Mall in downtown Brunswick, 191 Maine Street, Brunswick, ME 04011.

Event Timeline:

4:15pm – Gather on the Mall by the Gazebo
4:30pm – Parade Starts
5:00pm – Parade Returns to Mall
5:05pm – Tent or Treat & Photo Booth Zone on Mall
6:15pm – Event Ends

Individuals marching in the parade need to assemble on the Mall by 4:15 p.m. to be lined up. The parade will begin at 4:30 p.m. There is no age requirement to participate in the parade, but parents are encouraged to march with their children. Brunswick’s Parks & Recreation, Police and Fire Departments will join forces to provide safe escort and traffic control.

The parade will start at the Mall on the Park Row side and move down Maine Street, making a right turn onto Bank Street, a right turn onto Federal Street, then a right onto School Street and the parade will end back at the Mall. Immediately following the parade, at approximately 5:05pm, children are invited to participate in the Tent or Treat event where local organizations and volunteers will be handing out candy from decorated tents on the Mall. There will also be a Photo Booth Zone for families to take pictures for the virtual costume contest with fun, spooky, Halloween theme backdrops!
