Jane’s Walk Maine 2026:
Explore some of our Main Street Communities on Foot
On Saturday, May 2, 2026, Maine’s downtowns come alive with stories, conversation, and discovery during Jane’s Walk ME—a global festival of free, volunteer-led walking tours inspired by urbanist Jane Jacobs. These “walking conversations” invite participants to explore neighborhoods through local history, culture, and shared experiences.
Across Maine, nearly 70 walks in 30+ communities are planned this year—including many in Maine’s nationally accredited Main Street communities, making it the perfect opportunity to experience these vibrant downtowns in a new way.
