Crooked Face Creamery, located in the historic downtown of Skowhegan, Maine, is renowned for its handcrafted cheeses made with high-quality whole milk and minimal ingredients. Founded by Amy Rowbottom, who grew up on a dairy farm in Norridgewock, the creamery offers a variety of cheeses, including smoked ricotta, herbed ricotta, and gouda.
All cheeses made at the creamery are handcrafted with high-quality whole milk, no preservatives, and limited ingredients. They are often specially cold-smoked for the creamiest, richest flavor and texture. Between visits to local dairy farms to scratch beloved cow noses, Amy is now hard at work creating a unique mix of award-winning cheeses for her Crooked Face Creamery and Up North Cheese brands.
The creamery has gained significant recognition, winning a Bronze Award for its Pressed Herbed Ricotta at the 2023 World Cheese Awards held in Trondheim, Norway. The award highlights the global appreciation for Crooked Face Creamery's products' high standards and unique flavors.
In addition to finding excellent cheeses, you'll also find packaged meat from local farms and several Maine-made gifts.
