The Abbey Coffee Shop and Cocktail Bar in the heart of historic, year-round downtown Brunswick, Maine and was nominated semifinalist for the 2025 James Beard Award for Best New Bar in the United States! The Abbey treats you to some wonderful coffee and breakfast sandwiches in the morning and to craft cocktails and delicious food for lunch and for dinner. Owners Connor Scott and Lainey Catalino welcome you to their downtown Coffee Shop and Cocktail Bar with eclectic atmosphere.
Starting at 8:00 AM, The Abbey serves locally roasted Bard Coffee, accompanied by breakfast sandwiches and baked goods. The breakfast menu features items like a breakfast sandwich with bolo levedo, baked egg, cheese, and a choice of garlic herb or sweet onion spread, with an option to add prosciutto.
In the evening, The Abbey transforms into a cocktail bar and small plate restaurant. The menu includes dishes such as deviled eggs with house chorizo dust, Mere Point oysters served with mignonette, and a traditional Spanish bocadillo with bacon, roasted poblano pepper, local Maine gouda, and muhammara. The cocktail selection is both innovative and playful, featuring drinks like the "Banaquiri," a banana-infused daiquiri, and the "PB-J Manhattan."
